Summer is coming, yet many people still have closets full of hoodies, sweaters, and thick winter jackets. Follow the tips below to strategically make room in your closet for your summer clothes.
Tip No. 1: Fully Utilise Available Space Inside the House
Other than your closet or wardrobe, there are plenty of other areas to store clothes inside an apartment. For example, you may consider placing bags full of clothes or vacuum bags under your bed to save room in closets and wardrobes. When categorising and folding clothes, you can also consider folding in different shapes and sizes to match the space you’re storing the clothes in. Dividing your clothes into categories, such as pants, jackets, and such, and then folding them into similar sizes and shapes can also help save space when storing.
Tip No. 2: Smart use of Vacuum Bags
Many people already use vacuum bags to store heavy winter clothing, however, there’s a tip on how you can utilise them to their full extent. After placing your heavy winter clothes inside the vacuum bag, you can use the furniture around you, such as your mattress, and place the bag under there before sucking the air out. This way, you will create a smooth top for the bag and utilise every inch available.
Tip No. 3: Visit the Laundromat
Last but not least, you may choose to bring all your heavy winter clothes to the laundromat. Not only will you receive your clothes clean and freshly dried, the laundry mat will also help you fold them nicely on top of each other. This saves you the effort of folding them yourself and you can easily tuck your clean clothes under the bed, in your closet, or in your mini storage unit until the seasons change again!
